Do I Need to Worry about Termites in Arlington, VA?

Termites in Arlington, VA

Yes - absolutely.  Especially in older Arlington homes.  Just a couple of weeks ago there were termites and termite damage found in one of my listings. A year ago there was no trace of termites in that same Arlington home. In the sales contract in Arlington, VA it is seller's responsibility to exterminate and repair any termite damage.  It will cost my clients over $1,000 to get rid of the little wood destroying critters and repair the damage they have... Fairlington neighborhood in Arlington

Washington post just had a great article about Arlington's neighborhood Fairlington - it was written by Carisa Crawford-Chappell.  I absolutely love this community which is still affordable to many 1st time home buyers, it's very well located near Shirlington Urban Village, it's very green and walkable, and offers many amenities and functional layouts. Here is the link to the article. If you'd like to see for sale condos in Fairlington - search for homes in 22206 Zip Code.  Here is... Continue Reading Article...

The Arlington Expert

Arlington is experiencing a very hot real estate market.  Not all properties are hot, but some are really hot.  Most buyers want the what I call "cream puffs" - properties in a great location, with a good layout, in move-in condition. Those properties are flying off the shelves with multiple offers. If you would like to increase your odds of buying one of those properties - here is what you have to do: 1.  Move fast - as soon as the... Continue Reading Article...

Moby Dick Arlington

I want to share some of my favorite places for food in my beloved Arlington. My husband and I don't spend too much time in the kitchen - so we eat out a lot. I always complain that we need more casual dining options and I hope to see them soon! There are a few restaurants we dine in on a very regular basis.  One of them is Moby Dick.  Why do we like it? Free fresh bread baked right in... Continue Reading Article...

I found this article on Arlnow.com and wanted to share.  I live in Courthouse, Arlington myself and love seeing all the good changes happening here.  Bergmann's Dry Cleaning site has been  looking dull and abandoned for a long while now - it is a site on the corner of N Veich St and Lee Hwy. Finally they had a groundbreaking ceremony this month for a new project! The site will have 177 apartments, 23 town homes and 14,000 square feet for... Continue Reading Article...

Arlington Cabidor

I ran across this new solution for extra storage in Washington Post. It's called "Cabidor" and it looks promising! Unlike racks and hooks that hang over a door, the Cabidor attaches to the hinges of any door to create storage space. The Cabidor, which has the storage capacity of more than five medicine cabinets, can be customized with adjustable shelving and a retention rod system. You can use it for extra pantry space, craft or office supplies, pet supplies, laundry... Continue Reading Article...

Arlington real estate statistics February 2014
