Most people are visual. When you list your home with irrelevant paint colors and dated looking furniture – you are discounting your home, your potential buyers can’t get over “the upgrades they will need to make”. This seller was listed without an offer for 4 months before the owner reached out for help. We made minor changes and sold in 30 days. The listing was on the main highway – so it especially needed to look its best.
Take a look at this dark red paint and this large table in the breakfast nook. We actually moved the large table to the dining room and brought a small dining room table to the kitchen. We also painted the dark red with neutral shades of gray.

The backsplash in the kitchen wasn’t ideal, but I think painting the walls helped a lot (see – I don’t ask you to change everything! 🙂

Let’s move to the family and dining room. We painted, changed the chandelier and swapped family room furniture for something more modern. This is where we placed the large dining room table. Family room furniture had to go! Sorry seller!

We went around every room and improved it as much as possible – by removing small things, adding some art, repositioning art. Sometimes sellers have plenty of stuff – it just needs to placed in the right place. Sometime we bring a few props.

Staging a home is not easy – you have to go the extra mile. You only have one chance to make a 1st impression though and you should go through this process to maximize the potential of one of the largest investment of your life. You also create something you can be proud of in the process and I promise you learn A LOT! I think it’s worth something! I love being a part of these transformations and I love to see my clients smile once we are finished.
